Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1

Fes City Tour

Your cultural odyssey begins with a full-day guided walking tour through the heart of Fes el Bali, the largest living medieval city in the world. Navigating this massive, car-free labyrinth of over 9,000 narrow alleyways is like stepping back in time. You will discover the vibrant and pungent Chouara Tanneries, where leather is still dyed in stone vats using traditional methods unchanged for centuries. The tour includes visits to architectural masterpieces such as the Bou Inania Madrasa, adorned with intricate zellige tilework, and the exterior of the ancient Al-Qarawiyyin University. Throughout the day, you will weave through bustling souks grouped by trade, observing master artisans meticulously crafting copper, brass, and cedarwood just as their ancestors did.

Day 2

Fes Meknes Volubilis Rabat

Departing Fes, your first destination is the remarkably preserved Roman ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage site surrounded by rolling, fertile plains. Here, a local guide will lead you through the ancient city, pointing out beautifully intact floor mosaics, the imposing Triumphal Arch, and the ruins of grand basilicas. The journey then continues to the nearby Imperial City of Meknes, the 17th-century capital built by the ambitious Sultan Moulay Ismail. In Meknes, you will stand in awe of the monumental Bab Mansour gate, explore the expansive granaries, and visit the serene royal stables. In the late afternoon, you will press on to Rabat, Morocco's elegant capital city, where you will check into your hotel and enjoy a relaxing evening by the coast.

Day 3

Rabat Casablanca

The morning is dedicated to exploring Rabat, a city that beautifully balances its rich history with a calm, modern demeanor. You will visit the iconic Hassan Tower, an unfinished 12th-century minaret that stands as a testament to grandiose Almohad architecture, and the adjacent, exquisitely designed Mausoleum of Mohammed V. Next, stroll through the picturesque Kasbah of the Udayas, a fortified neighborhood with whitewashed and blue-painted houses overlooking the Bou Regreg River and the Atlantic Ocean. Following a delightful seafood lunch, you will make the short drive down the coast to the bustling metropolis of Casablanca. Here, the undeniable highlight is a guided interior tour of the awe-inspiring Hassan II Mosque, a true masterpiece of Moroccan craftsmanship built directly out over the crashing waves of the ocean.

Day 4

Casablanca Marrakech

After a final morning coffee near Casablanca's scenic Corniche, you will leave the Atlantic coast behind and journey inland towards the vibrant 'Red City' of Marrakech. The drive takes you through fertile agricultural lands, gradually giving way to the arid, palm-dotted plains surrounding the city. Upon arrival in the early afternoon, you will check into a beautiful traditional riad located within the historic medina. The rest of the day is yours to begin acclimatizing to the city's unique energy. As dusk approaches, there is no better introduction to Marrakech than venturing into the legendary Jemaa el-Fnaa square. You will be captivated by the carnival-like atmosphere, featuring storytellers, acrobats, musicians, and dozens of sizzling food stalls filling the night air with exotic aromas.

Day 5

Marrakech Guided Tour

Your final day is entirely devoted to uncovering the majestic history and hidden gems of Marrakech with an expert local guide. The morning begins with a visit to the magnificent Bahia Palace, showcasing the finest examples of 19th-century Moroccan and Islamic architecture with its stunning courtyards and intricate wooden ceilings. You will admire the soaring Koutoubia Minaret, the spiritual and visual anchor of the city, before taking a tranquil stroll through the vibrant, cobalt-blue Majorelle Garden, famously restored by Yves Saint Laurent. In the afternoon, your guide will help you navigate the sensory overload of the medina's souks, where you can haggle for spices, textiles, and handcrafted lanterns. Conclude your Imperial Cities tour with a final, magical sunset view overlooking the electrifying Jemaa el-Fnaa square from a rooftop cafe.
