After taking in its intricate mosaics and towering minaret, continue north to the elegant capital city of Rabat. Explore the iconic Hassan Tower, the beautifully preserved Mausoleum of Mohammed V, and the picturesque, blue-and-white Kasbah of the Udayas before settling in for the night.

Day 2

Rabat Chefchaouen

Depart Rabat and travel inland, ascending into the lush, dramatic peaks of the Rif Mountains. Arrive in Chefchaouen, the famous 'Blue Pearl' of Morocco, known for its remarkably picturesque blue-washed buildings. Spend your afternoon wandering the narrow, tranquil alleys, discovering hidden artisan shops, and capturing stunning photography at every turn. Relax at a lively cafe in the Outa el Hammam square, sipping sweet mint tea while taking in the beautiful mountain backdrop and the relaxed local atmosphere.

Day 3

Chefchaouen Volubilis Fes

Leave the blue alleys of Chefchaouen behind as you travel south through rolling agricultural lands towards the imperial city of Fes. Step back in time with a stop at the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage site featuring remarkably preserved mosaics, grand arches, and sweeping views of the surrounding plains. Continue to Meknes, the 17th-century Ismaili capital, to admire the monumental, intricately tiled Bab Mansour gate. Finally, arrive in Fes by late afternoon, ready to dive into the country's spiritual and cultural heart.

Day 4

Fes Guided City Tour

Embark on an immersive guided walking tour through Fes el Bali, a massive, car-free labyrinth of 9,000 winding alleyways that feels like a step back into the Middle Ages. Discover the vibrant and aromatic Chouara Tanneries, where leather is dyed in colorful vats using age-old techniques. Marvel at the stunning zellij tilework of the Bou Inania Madrasa and visit the exterior of the Al Quaraouiyine University, the oldest continually operating university in the world. Spend the afternoon navigating the bustling souks filled with master artisans.

Day 5

Leave Fes early and travel south through the Middle Atlas Mountains. Pass through the alpine, Swiss-style town of Ifrane and the dense cedar forests of Azrou, where you might spot native Barbary macaques. Continue through the dramatic Ziz Valley, with its vast palm groves, before arriving at the edge of the Sahara Desert. At the towering golden dunes of Erg Chebbi, trade your vehicle for a camel caravan. Trek into the desert as the sun sets, painting the sands in fiery hues. Spend the night in a luxury desert camp under a spectacular canopy of stars, enjoying a traditional dinner and Berber music around the campfire.

Day 6

Merzouga Todra Gorge Dades Valley

Wake up early to witness a breathtaking desert sunrise, watching the shadows shift across the immense dunes. After breakfast, ride your camels back to the edge of the desert and begin your journey west. Marvel at the sheer, 300-meter vertical limestone walls of the magnificent Todra Gorge, a paradise for rock climbers and nature lovers. Continue along the rugged and scenic 'Route of a Thousand Kasbahs' through the lush Dades Valley, admiring the unique rock formations known as 'monkey fingers' before arriving at your hotel for the evening.
